OVERVIEW

At Reproductive Health Collaborative Nebraska (RHCN), we work to provide equitable access to quality sexual and reproductive healthcare services and education for Nebraskans statewide. We are a small not-for-profit organization that raises federal and private funding to advance our mission. As a collaborative team of subject matter experts, we work in an integrated and iterative fashion to implement, evolve, and expand programming and best practices.

Reproductive Health Collaborative Nebraska (RHCN) seeks a full-time (40 hours a week) Senior Director of Programs and Initiatives to lead the implementation of the organizations’ mission and strategies through program development, innovation and program/team management. This position is ideal for someone passionate about reproductive and sexual health who can help to grow our organization and inspire a small, highly motivated team. The organization is experiencing a period of growth and expansion, and we are looking for a colleague to help lead and position our organization for a thriving future. This role requires a balance of high-level strategic thinking and hands-on management, works in partnership with the Executive Director and senior team, and is ideal for someone with extensive experience in public health, sexual and reproductive healthcare, strong program-development and management experience, leadership skills, and strategic relationship management skills. The candidate will demonstrate values and experience that align with our work, a capacity for creative problem solving, experience in grant writing and management, and interest in addressing large-scale public health challenges on a statewide level.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Organizational Strategy and Operational Support

  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Director, board of directors, and leadership team to shape and evolve the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic direction, and ensure organizational effectiveness.
  • Engage with the leadership team to grow and ensure a healthy workplace culture and satisfying workplace experiences.
  • Collaboratively define and integrate the goals and objectives of the programs and Initiatives team advancing innovation and best practice in sexual and reproductive healthcare.
  • Supervise and actively mentor individual team member tasks and individual growth and professional development.
  • Provide oversight to quarterly organizational learning and strategic plan review sessions to advance opportunities and monitor successes and challenges
  • Lead across multidisciplinary teams (internal and external) to help drive innovation, challenge the status quo, and implement solutions to advance organizational priorities in sexual and reproductive health.

Planning and Executing Strategic Initiatives

  • Initiate and set goals for the Project and Initiative team that align with the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Provide strategic direction for grant-making, working to achieve outstanding performance in overseeing and executing RHCN’s grant funds through creativity and innovation.
  • Provide oversight and direction for RHCN’s program of clinical work to enhance network health service delivery and ensure best practice and innovation in sexual and reproductive healthcare.
  • Ensure the development of community programs to address ongoing needs across critical function areas related to sexual and reproductive health and well-being statewide.
  • Proactively enhance program quality on an ongoing basis and ensure effective program implementation.
  • Ensure effective assessment, evaluation and learning gleaned from data resources, program evaluation and strategic sharing, and the application of such data and information to advance RHCN’s work.

Relationship Management

  • As a member of the senior leadership team, provide proactive analyses of the sexual and reproductive health landscape, key global and national trends, resources, opportunities, possible obstacles, and how these may impact the successful attainment of our mission, our community wellbeing, and organizational operations.
  • Identify opportunities for external partnerships, collaboration and connections between RHCH’s work and the efforts of others focused on advancing Sexual and Reproductive well-being statewide and nationally.
  • Support establishment of systemic partnerships and serve on relevant councils with community partners, local, state, and federal governmental departments, health entities, with a particular focus on public health partners.

Requirements:

  • A Master’s degree in, Non-Profit Management, Public Health, Leadership, Clinical Research, Learning & Development, or Public Administration .
  • Experience in sexual and reproductive health program development or service delivery.
  • Leadership & collaboration experience in the nonprofit industry.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills to ensure multiple projects stay on track.
  • Effective team leadership, skills and experience in cultivating team cohesion, innovation and intersection across diverse disciplines to evoke creativity and effective program development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders across the organization and statewide network constituents.
  • Encourage and appreciate a continuous learning environment.
  • Commitment to our vision, mission, values and teamwork required as a nonprofit.
  • A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed), and current comprehensive automotive insurance.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check upon employment offer.
  • Consistent and regular attendance at onsite meetings with key community stakeholders and internal team.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

  • C-suite level experience
