Inclusive Sexuality: Supporting Individuals With Developmental Disabilities
People with developmental disabilities are often excluded from conversations about sexuality–sometimes unintentionally, sometimes due to discomfort or misinformation. Yet individuals with developmental disabilities have the same thoughts, feelings, curiosities, and desires for connection as anyone else. Access to accurate, inclusive sexuality education is essential for their safety, autonomy, and overall well-being.
As a professional who works closely with individuals with developmental disabilities, you are often the trusted person they turn to with questions, whether you feel prepared or not. This interactive training is designed to increase your confidence, knowledge, and practical skills when teaching and talking about sexuality with this population.
This session will be most helpful for community educators, teachers, outreach workers, and anyone who works or would like to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.

This session will be most helpful for clinical operations staff including those who work in administration, registration, scheduling, and billing.

Reproductive Health in Obesity: Contraceptive Choices and GLP-1 Considerations
This presentation looks at how obesity, birth control, and GLP-1 medications all connect in real-life patient care. Obesity can change how well certain contraceptives work and can increase risks with estrogen-containing methods. At the same time, GLP-1 medications are becoming more common and can affect birth control—especially oral pills—because they slow digestion and may reduce absorption.
These medications also help with weight loss, which can actually increase fertility in some patients, making reliable contraception even more important. As more patients use GLP-1s for weight loss or diabetes, providers need to understand how obesity and these medications influence contraceptive effectiveness, safety, and counseling.
Overall, the goal is to make sure patients get accurate, individualized guidance so they can choose the safest and most effective birth control option for their health needs.
This session will be most helpful for clinical practice staff including providers, nursing, and anyone who counsels patients about their contraceptive options.
