NEFP Statement on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization

With the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization effectively overturning Roe v. Wade, our constitutional guarantee of reproductive freedom as Americans has been eliminated. Nevertheless, the ruling does not mean that abortion is illegal nationwide. Abortion currently remains legal in Nebraska and access to quality health care is available across our state through the Title X network.
Nebraska Family Planning (NEFP) remains unwavering in our belief that family planning and access to care across the lifespan is a basic human right, essential for the well-being of all individuals. The work ahead calls us to be resilient, tenacious, adaptable, and above all, interconnected. As we stand with those who call for justice, NEFP reaffirms our belief that all people have the right to determine their reproductive destiny with privacy, dignity, respect, and without barriers to comprehensive care.
The Nebraska Title X network continues to provide quality comprehensive healthcare within the parameters of Title X – our eleven partner agencies (across 33 sites) play a critical role by offering education and all-options, neutral, and nondirective pregnancy counseling, as well as referrals upon request.
